After many weeks of anticipation over the new 3G iPhone there was finally a photo released to ensure people that it is indeed coming. The iPod Observer received the photo. To put minds to rest, they have released the image and it appears that the new 3G iPhone will be a shiny little black number. It features a black glossy rear instead of the typical aluminum that many assumed it would have. Based on the picture that was released the phone will also not include the separate black plastic end piece that typically covers the antenna. Many feel that it looks much like the Knight Creations/ TiAIN iPhones. The main difference is that the black plastic end piece is included which is expected to create a clear signal for the iPhone 3G, although Apple may not completely disregard the use of aluminum. Many believe that the photo may simply be a fantasy shot of what they want the new 3G to look like.

Orange, the company who exclusively offers Appleās iPhone in France recently reported that the number of customers who travel to France to purchase an unlocked iPhone is less than 10 percent. They hinted that the high price of the device is a turn-off for customers.
The company also confirmed that they are developing applications via the SDK which was released by Apple last month. Georges Penalver, Executive Vice President of Strategic Marketing for Orange Labs stated that “We are developing applications for the iPhone”.
They would not however, confirm whether or not those same applications will be made available to UK O2 iPhone customers.
